If you only got three things done in the next three months, what would they be? These are your epics.
Epics also help us know when key deadlines need to be met, and identify who is the responsible person.
One step smaller than epics are milestones.
One step smaller than milestones are tasks.
Tasks should be able to be completed less than one day. If it's bigger than that, it should be cut into smaller tasks or sub-tasks. But, it's still useful to see what the tasks are working toward. Its good to be able to see the forest 🌲 🌲 🌲 🌲 for the trees 🌲 ? For that, you can still create milestones for your rocks, but they're not the most important things, so they stay off your epics board. The epics board is for your four most important things.
